How should the theme of the factory buildings be approached, particularly those that are small-sized and so frequently found all over Italy more than in other countries, but are also anonymous and apparently without any form of identity? How can the rather strict provisions of city planning legislation be tackled when they require new buildings to be quite uniform, and in so doing they remove the historical guidelines characterizing the landscape in a territory that used to be a rural, agricultural ? Given such issues, it is the building itself that becomes the landscape, and turns into an abstract territory in which new morphological patterns can be detected.

The building box starts moving – at first to small degrees, with sinuous upper lines that seem to run parallel to the ground, then with breaks, joints, intrusions, with rising and falling trajectories. Extruded black parallelepipeds on the exterior and internal gardens through which machinery winks at humans that seem to be floating inside glass rooms and where the sky again can be seen. Contrast is a leit-motiv, black vs white, light us shade, natural vs artificial, in a kind of contemporary suprematism in which abstract forms do not take the place of reality – it is rather a certain deviation from the perception of both that does.
